Bordeaux, Graves

After a morning strolling through the streets of Bordeaux, enjoy lunch in the city’s historic district in an authentic establishment offering regional cuisine using local produce.

Then head out to Graves for a magnificent walk accompanied by your guide and driver. Begin with a tour and tasting at a family-run business. Set in the heart of a 78-hectare vineyard, the guide will show you the 16th century tower and underground cellars containing 1,000 barrels!

You will then be greeted by the owner of the Cros Château, who will transmit his passion for his vineyard, one of the most unusual in Bordeaux: a plot of just one hectare planted in 1907, producing the delicious Loupiac wine for four generations! This estate, belonging to the Boyer family, perpetuates a hundred-year philosophy.

Then, back in Bordeaux, stroll along the quays of the Garonne on a “wine route” stretching nearly two kilometres through the Pavillons Appellations and Pavillons Millésime, the 80 appellations of Bordeaux and Aquitaine. A very special opportunity to meet and chat with wine growers and traders.

At the end of the evening, you will be amazed by the Sound and Light show on the Place de la Bourse main square, followed by a giant fireworks display. This busy day will end with a well-deserved rest in your guesthouse.

Saint Emilion

Saint-Emilion is every bit as popular as Bordeaux with its thousands of visitors falling for the charms of its hillside landscapes and the cobbled streets of its medieval village, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And what about the wine? Is there really any need to spell it out? Ausone, Cheval Blanc and Angelus: so many prestigious names embody the prestige of this appellation.

But Saint-Emilion is also a real treat for lovers of food and history! The macaroons, the legend of the monk Emilion, its one-of-a-kind monolithic church, and miles of underground galleries in which the wines of the appellation’s many estates lie aging, from the most famous to the least pretentious.

For this stage of your visit, you will stay in a charming guesthouse located in the village, just a few metres from the Porte Brunet – a personal and private place offering unique and wildly romantic views over the vineyard.

The Médoc

For this last day, it is the Médoc’s turn to show you its charms! Your driver and guide will accompany you on the Châteaux route as you discover the secrets of barrel making in the Nadalié barrel production facility. During your tour of the workshops, you will understand the crucial role of the wood in the ageing of wine and appreciate the barrel makers’ expertise.

The next stop is a tasting of Château Desmirail wines, a Margaux Grand Cru Classé, which today belongs to a member of the Lurton family, an iconic figure of the Bordeaux vineyard. 

For the final stage of your wine adventure, you will stop off for a souvenir photo in front of the unmissable Château Margaux, renowned as the home of one of the world’s greatest wines for several centuries.
